I was stepping into a brand new industry and wanted to get off on the right foot. I had already gone through Tech Sales Ascension and trusted the Higher Levels training and content, so I knew if I landed an AE role, I was going to invest in AE Mastery. I actually went through the course before I even started at HubSpot because I wanted to show up prepared, ramp faster, and not waste time figuring everything out the hard way.

What was the most valuable part of the program to you?

It made me think proactively and build a real process instead of being reactive. Three things stood out:

  1. Internal networking: I started building relationships with top performers and people across the team right away, so I had multiple perspectives to learn from instead of relying on a single mentor.
  2. Reverse engineering top performers: I spent hours studying closed won deals and Gong calls, paying attention to what messaging worked, how people opened calls, and how they ran their sales cycles. The course gave me the structure to do that intentionally.
  3. Systematizing my work: I mapped out my repeatable scenarios end to end, from prospecting and sourcing to discovery, demo prep, follow up emails, and everything in between. I kept all of it in a living doc and iterated constantly. That system made me efficient faster and helped me stay consistent.

Put in the extra work up front and be intentional about building your process, it pays off fast. Do not get distracted chasing every new play management throws at you. Stick to a system you know works, then test improvements over time. Things can change quickly when you land at a good company, and AE Mastery is absolutely worth it if you want to ramp faster, improve attainment, and accelerate your career progression.
