I was on a physical therapy track through college, but near graduation I realized it was not for me. I had been coasting in a job, wanted to move into sales, and didn’t know where to start. I watched Higher Levels for about a year and was skeptical of online courses, but the consistent student testimonials and the free content from Eric, Kris, and Connor showed real substance. You could tell they had actually done the job. I decided to invest in myself so I could learn how to vet companies, network the right way, and run a focused job hunt instead of sending out random resumes.

What was the most valuable part of the program to you?

Two things stood out: the community and the system. In the first two to three weeks, the networking alone made a huge difference. Talking with peers and people already in sales kept me motivated and accountable. The toolkit, especially the job search spreadsheet, turned chaos into a plan. I listed target companies, tracked outreach, and focused on the right titles and departments. That led to real traction. One example: I reached out to seven or eight employees at a startup, connected with an AE on a Sunday night, and got pushed straight past the HR screen into later rounds. Even when a process did not end in an offer, it validated the approach and built momentum. Inside the course, I felt fully immersed in the SDR role, learning CRMs, ICPs, and daily terminology so I could show up like someone ready to be effective.

Join, then do the work. Identify your own gaps and focus on improving them with the material. Stop over-scripting and start listening. Know the company and product at a basic level, but do not try to memorize every perfect answer. Act like you have been there, stay conversational, and use the community for accountability and feedback. Do not just submit resumes. Reach out to hiring managers, BDR managers, and current SDRs or AEs. If you follow the Ascension roadmap, you will break in faster and with a lot more confidence.
