I always knew I wanted to work in sales, but I didn’t want to go down the marketing route, even though that’s what I studied. I was actually considering cybersecurity when I stumbled across a Higher Levels video. It was titled something like “Why You Shouldn’t Do Tech Sales,” which caught my attention—but by the end, I realized none of the cons were dealbreakers for me. I kept watching more videos, saw how much value they offered, and after months of following along, I felt like this was something I could actually do. When I saw the cost of the program compared to the potential starting salary in tech sales, it just felt like a no-brainer.

What was the most valuable part of the program to you?

The way Higher Levels broke things down just clicked for me—no fluff, no “grindset” hype, just real strategies that worked. The biggest game-changer was learning how to stand out: how to format my resume, how to reach out to decision-makers, and how to treat interviews like conversations. Even though I didn’t have any formal sales experience—just a few jobs at golf courses—recruiters kept telling me, “Hey, it’s clear you’ve done your research.” That told me the training was working. I also learned to ask the right questions in interviews, and that helped me move through five rounds and land the role at Placer.ai.

Stay consistent. I was sending out 3–4 tailored resumes a day and reaching out to 20+ people per company. That might sound like overkill, but when you don’t have experience, you have to find another way to get noticed. Getting the interview is part of the interview. And don’t settle for any company—vet them just as much as they’re vetting you. If you put in the work, Higher Levels gives you everything you need to break in. I’m proof of that.
