Higher Levels helped me translate my military background into a tech sales story that actually got me interviews, then gave me the confidence to handle tough pushback and win the offer. It completely changed my mindset on investing in myself, and the work life balance improvement has been huge for my family.

I joined the Army National Guard at 19, spent almost three years in a long training pipeline as a human intelligence collector, then came back to the civilian world still unsure what career path to take. I tried applying to tech roles on my own and it went nowhere. No first round interviews, even after applying to dozens of companies. I took a door-to-door role with Spectrum to provide for my family, but the hours and commuting were brutal and not sustainable. I had been watching Higher Levels videos during that time and realized I needed a real roadmap to get recognized, get interviews, and break into tech sales. I was hesitant to buy a course at first, but the testimonials from people in similar situations made it feel like a real investment that would pay itself back.
What was the most valuable part of the program to you?
The resume and LinkedIn deep dive was the game changer. I learned how to reframe non-sales experience into sales-relevant skills. In my case, the military training taught me how to build rapport, actively listen, and earn trust with people who did not want to talk, then guide conversations toward the outcome I needed. Once I rewrote my resume, fixed my LinkedIn, added a photo, and updated my bio and experience, I started getting first round interviews. The other huge piece was confidence in interviews. Instead of walking in thinking “I’m not qualified,” the course helped me understand what hiring managers actually look for and how to sell myself with conviction. That mattered even more later when I had cold call exercises with a CEO and a final presentation to a room full of people. The prep and frameworks helped me push back when I got hit with “you don’t have the experience,” and keep moving forward.

Take the chance on yourself and just go for it. If you are motivated, sales can be an incredibly lucrative career, and you are not locked into one path forever. Do your research, make sure you are learning from the right source, and then commit to the process. Also, do not overlook the basics, because small things like your resume and LinkedIn can be the difference between no interviews and real momentum. The skills you build in sales will help you in every area of life, and for me it has already made a big difference for my family.
